The Monastic Vocation in the Greek Church Today

Nektarios (Antonopoulos) was born in 1952 in Marousi, not far from Athens.

In 1976, was ordained deacon and tonsured monk by metropolitan Polykarpos of Corfu, and the year after he entered the monastery of the Transfiguration of Sagmata. In 1983 he was ordained priest in the dioceses of Thebe and in 1991 became hegumen of the Transfiguration monastery.

Since   2013 he is Metropolitan bishop of Argolidos, whose see is in Nafplio.
