Br Enzo too shared the traditional period of silence and of retreat with the community until Ash Wednesday; when Lent began, he resumed his ministry of preaching, being invited by the bishops of numerous local Churches. In particular, we note his participation at the diocesan vigil of St Bassiano in Lodi, as guest of bishop Giuseppe Merisi; his talk in Milan on Biblical models of salvation in the cycle of “Lenten Dialogues” organized by the Servants of Mary at San Carlo al Corso; the lecture given in the Notre-Dame cathedral of Paris on “Word of God and holy Scriptures” within the “Conférences de Carême” and one on “The word of God in the life of the Christian and of the Church” at the University of La Valletta in Malta. In the Ducal Palace of Genoa he gave a talk on “What salvation? Salvation from what?” and at the Catholic University of Milan a talk on “Council and post-council in Italy” during a day of studies on Vatican Council II. He conducted a lectio divina at Sant’Ambrogio in Milan and in the cathedral of Piacenza, on the Gospel of the adultress (Jn 8,1-11) and the Prodigal son (Lk 15, 11-32) respectively, then gave a conference in Belluno on “Jesus’ pedagogy in the education for faith”, guest of bishop Giuseppe Andrich, and, finally, he preached the annual retreat to the priests of Padua, on the invitation of bishop Antonio Mattiazzo.

Other brothers and sisters too have been occupied outside the community for meetings and preaching: br Adalberto participated in Paris in a seminar on the councils of the Orthodox Churches with a paper on the councils of Moscow in the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries; br Gianmatteo led some meditations on the liturgy of the hours at the vicariate of Portici (Naples); br Davide preached the spiritual exercises to the seminarians of Pozzuoli; while during Lent br Luciano and br Ludwig led the weekly lectio divina at San Lorenzo (Turin).

In addition, br Luciano preached in Tours, on the invitation of archbishop Nicholas Aubertin, to priests and to the entire diocese, on the theme of the word of God. Sr Raffaela gave a Biblical course on the psalms to the Poor Clares of Gubbio, while sr Lisa traveled to Germany to preach to the priests of the Italian mission. Br Goffredo preached a day of retreat to the priests of the diocese of Urbino on the theme of “The priest and prayer” and participated in the work of the Consulta of the National Liturgical Office in Rome and in that of the Regional liturgical commission of Abruzzo in Ancona with a paper on liturgical practice today. He was also invited by bishop Felice Di Molfetta to conduct a day of studies for the clergy of the diocese of Cerignola-Ascoli Satriano on the topic “The word of God in the priest’s life”.
